The Intenso M.2 SSD PCIe High Performance is the first and so far the only NVMe drive from the manufacturer, which is known for its particularly cost-effective products. When using the M.2 PCIe Express SSD, Intenso promises twice as fast performance compared to a SATA SSD drive in the everyday use of a common PC user. Under optimized conditions of use, the advantage can even be four or five times.

Format and interface
As the model name of the Intenso M.2 SSD PCIe High Performance already reveals, the drive is designed in the M.2 plug-in card format that is usual for NVMe storage. The external dimensions are 80 millimeters in length, 22 millimeters in width and a maximum of 4 millimeters in height. For the connection to the system, Intenso uses the PCI Express interface of the third generation with the full expansion of four tracks for its top product.
Memory size and performance
According to the current data sheet from summer 2021, the Intenso M.2 SSD PCIe High Performance is offered in storage capacities of 240 GB and 480 GB. The NVMe drive is supposed to reach up to 2,500 MB/s in sequential read. Intenso’s SSD achieves a maximum of 1,100 MB/s in the smaller version and 2,000 MB/s in the larger version in sequential write. The flash memory is 3-bit TLC with an SLC cache for increased performance.
Warranty and equipment
In the earlier technical data, the Intenso M.2 SSD PCIe High Performance was also listed in a 120 GB version. The speeds for all sizes were partly decisively lower with up to 1,700 MB/s read and 800 MB/s write. The relatively short manufacturer warranty of only 2 years remains unaffected. The permitted amount of data that can be written to the SSD without losing the claim, on the other hand, is on a very good level considering the time period.
Test report conclusion – Intenso M.2 SSD PCIe High Performance in test
The Intenso M.2 SSD PCIe High Performance makes no secret of the fact that it wants to convince with a low price alone. Thanks to the particularly low cost per storage unit, Intenso’s NVMe SSD easily outshines all competitors and lands on the prominent places in the price comparisons. On the other hand, you should understandably not expect any surprises in terms of performance. In an office computer or a budget gaming machine, the M.2 drive is in good hands. Only the limited warranty period is disappointing.
